The Robert G. Ahern Scholarship Trust Fund
Robert "Bob" Ahern served as Toyota's first Boston Regional Manager from 1978 to 1983. He formed strong bonds of fraternity and friendship among Toyota dealers and employees throughout New England and supervised the evolution of a tumultuous dealer-distributor relationship into one based on good will and success. In tribute to his memory, and out of respect for his achievements, a scholarship fund was established to assist eligible students of the employees of New England Toyota dealerships.
Students are selected for scholarship assistance based upon scholastic achievement, financial need, and a commitment to community service.
Students must meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply for a Robert G. Ahern Scholarship:

Student's parent or legal guardian is employed by a
participating New England Toyota Dealership.
- Employees of management corporations, parent companies, or Lexus dealerships are not eligible.1
- Student's parent or legal guardian who is employed by a participating New England Toyota Dealership can still claim the student as a legal dependent for federal and state income tax purposes.
- Student must be a high school senior or enrolled in an educational program beyond high school.2
- Student must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or a C average or equivalent.
Students may reapply for the Robert G. Ahern Scholarship for every year the above requirements are met.
APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025-2026 ACADEMIC YEAR WILL BE AVAILABLE IN MID-JANUARY 2025. COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN APRIL 1, 2025..
1 The Robert G. Ahern Scholarship Trust Fund reserves the right to verify the employment of all award recipient's parent/legal guardians at a participating Toyota dealership prior to payments being issued (see application for employment verification timing). If the parent/legal guardian of an award recipient is no longer employed at a participating dealership, the scholarship award may be revoked.
2 Acceptable educational programs include: community colleges; four-year colleges or universities; graduate schools; technical or trade schools; or any certificate program requiring tuition. The program must charge tuition as this scholarship is for tuition assistance only.
